Does KidSafe Email protect children from other Internet services such as web surfing?

No, KidSafe Email filters Email only, and does not filter web surfing or other Internet services such as chat-rooms. The Internet by nature is ubiquitous and constantly changing. Every day there are numerous new websites appearing and others disappearing hence it is difficult to provide a completely fail-safe filtering mechanism for web surfing. However there are products on the market that offer these services, such as Net Nanny.

How else can I control my children surfing the Internet?

The best way to protect your children from undesirable web sites is to use the password protection options provided with the more popular browsers such as Internet Explorer. Using this method you can set it up so that when a child goes to a new site they will need to ask you to enter a password to provide access to that site for just this session, or for all sessions. Can I use KidSafe with an existing email account held with another Internet Provider?

Yes, providing the email account supports either the POP3 or IMAP protocol and you are prepared to supply Voice with your account details (including password). Once established Voice will collect your email automatically from your existing Internet Provider and filter through the KidSafe system. You will then need to set your email client to collect the filtered email from our servers using the account details we provide.

Can I use KidSafe with a Hotmail or Yahoo email account?

No, unfortunately Hotmail, Yahoo and many other web based email accounts do not support POP3 or IMAP protocols.

Can I use KidSafe with Voice Webmail?
